Don your bowling shoes and get ready to strike the pins. Offering 12 lanes of uninterrupted bowling, GrandWest bowling is bigger and better than ever.
Putting the Fun Back into Bowling
Known as a ‘throwing sport’, ten pin bowling is making a comeback as a popular and affordable family activity. We all know that bowling alleys are notorious for being outdated and old-school – but not at GrandWest! With its electronic signage, vibey atmosphere and music-enabled lanes, Magic Bowling invites players to test their skill at GrandWest’s state-of-the-art indoor bowling alley.
Turn Birthdays into a Bowling Battle
As one of the most popular kids activities in Cape Town, why not treat the kids to 'tens' of fun with a Magic Bowling birthday at GrandWest! It saves you having to cater for the masses, stress about the mess and the big clean-up afterwards.
While GrandWest bowling may be one of many things to do in Cape Town with kids, it makes for a fun night out with friends too. Round up the crew and swap Bingo night for bowling night at this ten pin bowling venue in Cape Town. With a wide selection of restaurants and bars available, hit the pins before hitting the club! What will your team’s name be: The Grand Bowlers; Kings of the Pin; Lucky Strikers; or The Best Bowling GrandWest Team?
Did you know?
Although ten pin bowling is not considered an Olympic sport, it has received significant support to be included in the 2020 Tokyo Games.
How to Score
So, how does the scoring work? It’s easier than you think! Players keep score by adding the number of pins knocked down in each frame while special bonuses are awarded for strikes and spares (leftover pins). When a strike is bowled, the bowler is awarded a score of 10 (for knocking down all 10 pins), plus he/she gets to add the total of the next two rolls to that frame.
A ‘golden turkey’ is achieved when a player bowls nine strikes in a row.
