The Nedbank Golf Challenge is one of the highlights of the South African sporting calendar. In a 36 year history, the event has featured the biggest names in world golf. With 64 players, playing over 4 days, for a purse of $7.5 million. The 2019 Nedbank Golf Challenge, hosted by Gary Player takes place from 14-17 November 2019 and forms part of the Rolex Series on the European Tour and the penultimate event on the Race to Dubai. 

The Course

The 7 000m Gary Player Country Club at Sun City has been the home of the Nedbank Golf Challenge since 1981. Considered the best course in South Africa, the course – which was designed by legendary golfer Gary Player – has been deemed by top international players as demanding yet fair. As the tournament commences, 64 of the world’s top players will encounter bunkers in imaginative locations, water hazards and pins tucked out of sight on kidney-shaped greens.

Prize Money

With an eye-popping $7.5 million in prize money, the Nedbank Golf Challenge attracts top talent and golf fans from around the globe.

With a first prize of $2.5 million, spectators are assured of first-class entertainment on the greens. As an added bonus, players’ rankings at the Nedbank Golf Challenge also count towards Official World Golf Ranking points and Ryder Cup points. Additionally, but ranking at the Nedbank Golf Challenge will also count on both the Sunshine Tour Order of Merit and the European Tour Race to Dubai.
