Brandon Stone makes his third appearance in the Nedbank Golf Challenge hosted by Gary Player and representing the new era of young South African golfers looking to make their mark in ‘Africa’s Major’.
Stone seemed almost destined for golf greatness having grown up in a family of golfers. His father Kevin in particular was for many years a professional on the Sunshine Tour and European Tour.
After a stellar amateur career locally and then a highly impressive stint playing college golf for the University of Texas, Stone turned professional and broke through in style when he won the BMW South African Open hosted by the City of Ekurhuleni in 2016.
He ended that year with a second European Tour title in the Alfred Dunhill Championship and also represented South Africa in the Olympic Games. This year Stone claimed his third European Tour title in the Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open.
