This happened when he took the 2013 Omega Dubai Desert Classic, a title he won again in 2014.
The three-time winner on the European Tour earned his European Tour card at his first attempt in 1995.
He is one of several Ryder Cup players in the 2018 Nedbank Golf Challenge field, having represented Europe in the 2014 Ryder Cup.
